Who we are
Amenti is a community-based organization where we focus on becoming more Self-aware through movement, dance, and knowledge. We strive to embody our spirit instead of spiritualizing the body. The foundation of our philosophy is our Movemeant Method through which we can become more aware of our subconscious patterns in both body and mind.
Via our psychosomatic medicine and our young, urban holistic approach towards life we aim to connect with others, bring more harmony within our societies and open up the conversation about our mental health and the connection between body and mind. You can learn with and from us through our workshops, courses, intensives, retreats, and events.
Amenti Movemeant‘s method is a transformative method created by Gil ‘Gidori’ Gomes Leal, which spreads awareness about the connection of the body and mind and gives tools for expanding the capabilities of self-expression and -awareness.
The Method makes use of Layers, so we can have a structure to work from. Every layer represents an area of life within the human experience. Also, every layer is linked to a specific kind of way of moving and a corresponding element.
Just like we all have an affinity for certain sports or work for example and we are not naturally drawn to another activity, so it also works with our method. Some people have a natural affinity with a certain layer, either in movement or in their behavior, and an aversion or hard time connecting to another layer.
All of this tells us something about who you are.
We will sum up the layers for you with a small explanation so you will have a better understanding of them.
The Movemeant Method has a therapeutic way of using movement and dance but is not dance therapy. You do not have to be ‘sick’ to use our method, because sick or not, we can all improve as humans. We never stop learning.
Also, our method is a perfect tool to enhance your dance and become a better mover in all kinds of ways. So, whether you are someone who likes to use their body to become more aware of their mind or are a trained dancer and wish to level up, the MoveMeant Method is useful in both (and many more) cases.
